Monday, May 17, 1943

OSGOODE, Ont., May 17. — In the cemetery of his native parish, the body of Peter Daley, member of a respected pioneer family of Osgoode, was laid to rest after solemn requiem mass chanted in St. John's Church. The celebrant was the pastor, Rev. Ernest Maloney.

The service was attended by friends and neighbors from the district where Mr. Daley was held in the highest regard for his many sterling qualities. Although of a quiet, almost retiring nature, his kindness had endeared him to persons scattered over a wide area.

Peter Daley was a son of the late John Daley and his wife, Ellen O'Connor, also a member of an old Carleton family. He was predeceased by three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth (Bessie) Calvin, of Chicago; Misses Kate and Ellie Daley. A sister, Mrs. Mary Galvin, of Chicago, and a number of nephews and nieces, survive.

Mr. Daley died in Ottawa during Holy Week and his body rested for a time in the vault at Notre Dame Cemetery before being brought to Osgoode for burial.
