Dec. 5. -- The Village is in mourning over the demise of Miss Annie Reardon a well known and highly esteemed young lady who passed away on Nov. 30th at the early age of 28 years. Deceased had been in poor health for some time and her death was not unexpected. Interment took place in the R.C. cemetery, Osgoode, and was largely attended.
On Thursday, Ellen O'Connor, sister of Mr. Mathew O'Connor, died after a short illness, aged 42 years. Deceased was an unmarried lady, adevout Catholic, but unfortunately deaf and dumb. She enjoyed the esteem of all who knew her, from her exemplary life and amiable disposition. The interment took place at the church yard of St. Bridget's Osgoode, on Saturday.
An event of interest to many Ottawans took place at Osgoode on Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the marriage in St. Bridget’s church of Mr. Edmond Dewan, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Dewan, and Miss Violet, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kelly, all of Osgoode.
A wedding of considerable interest was celebrated quietly in St. Bridget's Church, River Road, Osgoode, yesterday morning, when Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Killy, Osgoode, became the bride of Mr. John W. MacRae, of Alexandria. Rev. Father Frank Corkery, P.P., performed the ceremony in the presence of the immediate relatives of both parties. The quaint old, church was taste-fully decorated with fall blooms.
A very pretty wedding was solomnized in St. Bridget's church, Osgoode. on Wednesday. July 14th, when Mr. Joseph Purcell of Ottawa led to the altar one of our fairest maidens in the person of Miss Katie McNeely. The bride was assisted by her sister. Sarah, while the groom was supported by his brother, Mr. P. Purcell. The happy young couple left on the 3 p. m. train amidst showers of rice and old slippers for Montreal and Quebec, carrying with them the goods wishes of a host of friends.
